We’ve just celebrated our 1st year anniversary of our new shift knob web store. Since then we’ve been asked similar questions over and over. Many of our customers seem to have the same questions:How do I know what size thread reducer I need?
I have a non-threaded shifter rod, but I want to get a new shift knob that has threads, what can I do?
I have an automatic shifter, do you have an adapter?
I have a Lokar shifter, do you have an adapter so I can change my shift knob?
I have a 3/8”x 16 tpi shift knob, but my shifter rod is ½” x 20 tpi – Do you have an adapter?
Some of these questions we could answer, and some we could not. Especially the last one. I have not yet come across an adapter to make the shift knob threads smaller if the master is not 16mm.

Non-Threaded Shifter Adapter that converts your threaded shift knob to a non-threaded shifter shaft, and can be used with many of our shift knobs with a 16mm x 1.50 master insert. We have a huge selection of shift knobs for you to choose from. This is a highly polished aluminum and included a Universal Thread Kit consisting of 3 Nylon Sleeves 5/8 outside diameter with inside diameters of 9/16”, ½”, and 3/8”.
We have a
Lokar, LoDapt Adapter - This adapts all our
16mm x 1.50 master inserted shift knobs, or any of our solid resin knobs that can be drilled out, to fit on Lokar Shifter Shafts that have a 3/8-16 or 3/8-24 threads. It comes in a highly polished aluminum finish, and is a couple of inches long. Looks really stunning!
We also have a
Custom Billet Extension Adapter , for that finishing touch to your shift knob & interior. It can be used with any of our shift knobs with a 16mm x 1.50 threaded master, or any of our solid resin knobs that can be drilled out. It has a highly polished aluminum finish, and is about 2” high. The
threaded reducer kits can be purchased separately through us. This looks beautiful!
For those
shifters that have no threads, and you want to install one of our shift knobs, you can buy a
UN-2 KIT, which includes 3 Nylon Sleeves in sizes: 9/16”, ½” & 3/8” with an outside diameter of 5/8” that slips over your shifter shaft and tightens to the shaft with 3 set screws. This fits into our shift knobs that are threaded or un-threaded.
